Are Brenda and Fritz still married on Major Crimes?
Following the return of Phillip Stroh to Los Angeles in season 6 of Major Crimes, Brenda is given police protection alongside everyone else Stroh is likely to target. She is still married to Fritz and appears to have remained in Los Angeles rather than taking the Washington, DC job.
Fritz is an old friend of Brenda's and has known her since at least her time in Washington, D.C. Fritz and Brenda were married in the last episode of Season Four of The Closer.
She retires from the LAPD and accepts a new job as the Chief of the District Attorney's Office's Bureau of Investigation.
At the end of the episode, Fritz suffers a heart attack and has Tao secretly take him to the hospital to be treated, requiring Fritz to wear a pacemaker as shown in “Zoo Story”, something that he keeps from Brenda.
In the end of The Closer, Gabriel is transferred to the D.A.'s Office's Bureau of Investigation to act as liaison officer to the LAPD when Brenda Leigh Johnson becomes its Chief. Before this, Gabriel is clearly distrusted by the squad due to his inadvertently acting as the leak.

But I have to say I'm disappointed (though my feelings are mixed) that Brenda didn't get pregnant in this last episode. The transition from death to life, as she loses her mother & her career, would have been perfect.
It just felt like time, mostly for me as an artist, time for me to do something else. There really wasn't an epiphany. It was just the idea of doing a Season 8 I think felt daunting to me and overwhelming, and sort of just didn't feel right.
Closing out the episode was another doctor's visit to S. Epatha Merkerson. Humorously, Brenda's parents were present here as well. We learned that Brenda has a treatable condition, though the idea of "ovarian drilling" did send Brenda into some understandable shock.
During her time spent on the TV series, Kyra won many awards including a Golden Globe in 2007 and Primetime Emmy Award in 2010. After seven seasons, The Closer's final episode aired in August 2012. Since then, Kyra has been producing TV series such as Proof and she's been playing Madeline Wuntch in Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Former star of The Closer Kyra Sedgwick was in talks to reprise her role for a special three-episode event. Unfortunately, they weren't able to align schedules in time to make it happen prior to the show's cancelation.
Deadline reports that Reynolds declined the offer to return as Sgt. David Gabriel and has instead signed a talent holding deal with NBC. A native of Richmond, Reynolds was primarily known for his work in musical theatre prior to his seven seasons on The Closer.

Rusty was initially placed in a foster home, but after running away repeatedly LAPD officers returned him to Major Crimes. Given his protected status, Sharon Raydor took him in while the search for his mother continued. Raydor was later formally confirmed as his foster mother.
While Brenda returns early after her mother's death to help Major Crimes solve the murder of a security guard, Raydor uncovers the leak in the department from Brenda's Turell Baylor case.

He tried to kill Rusty Beck, who witnessed him dumping a body. Rusty's report rekindled Brenda's vendetta against Stroh. Stroh eventually tried to kill both the witness and Brenda in her own home. Brenda shot Stroh and arrested him for two counts of attempted murder.
